Piccola Bottega Baltazar Biography
Piccola Bottega Baltazar is a band from the Veneto region, North-eastern Italy, founded in 2000. The music they play is located out of time, where can be found echoes of opera, radio days, old dance music as well as classic and jazz. The band has been awarded several prizes: Premio Valmarana, 2000 Premio Risonanze, 2002 Premio Rockit, 2004 Premio Monferr'autore, 2005. Its cd's and performances have been favourably reviewed by a number of newspapers and magazines (Diario, Il Resto del Carlino, Il Giorno, Il Gazzettino, Il mattino, Il giornale di Vicenza, L'arena, Il mucchio selvaggio, Folk bulletin, Rootsworld bulletin, Musikbox). Up till now Piccola Bottega Baltazar has released two cds published by the independent label Azzurra music sited in Verona: Poco tempo, troppa fame - omaggio a Fabrizio de Andrè (Not enough time and very hungry tribute to Fabrizio de Andrè), 2002 Canzoni in forma di fiore (Flower shaped songs), 2004. The band has also worked for the theatre, composing music for the following plays: Vozi dal mar e dala tera (Voices form land and sea), 2001, directed by Pino Costalunga Gl'Innamorati (The lovers) by Carlo Goldoni, 2002 directed by Stefano Scandaletti Il mago di Oz (The wizard of Oz), 2005, directed by Matteo Destro L'allegorie de la statue (The statue allegory), 2005, directed by Patrice Guillaumet International tours: Spain, 2003 and 2005 Greece, 2004 Switzerland, 2005 Mexico, 2005
