A Permanent Holiday Biography
A Permanent Holiday is the new project of Tony Lovato, formerly of MEST. It was formed in early 2006, shortly after MEST's breakup. Founding members included Jordon Terrell (Upright Radio, Hollywood Undead) on guitar, who left the band and was replaced by Dave Aguilera (Bleed the Dream). Jorell Decker (Hollywood Undead) on bass and Adam Garbett (of Just Ask) on drums, who also left the band and has not yet been replaced. The first two songs released by the band on their myspace were "Like Always" and "My Mother Said I Should Learn" (this is the official title, although it is often mistakenly abbreviated to "My Mother Said" because the band's myspace doesn't fit the whole song title). These were later followed by "The Thought of You", "A Taste of Honesty" and "The Night". All of these songs are believed to have been written about Tony's ex-girlfriend, Tiffany Selby, who is a Playmate and swimwear model. Recently another unmixed demo has been released called "SOS", believed to be about his current girlfriend Sara. According to Wikipedia: On March 25, 2007, Lovato called 911 and confessed to police that he had killed Wayne Hughes, his current girlfriends ex-boyfriend, by stabbing him the in the torso many times. He claimed that Hughes had assaulted him earlier and he was reacting to that. Lovato was to be charged with homicide. On March 27, 2007, Lovato was released from jail and homicide charges against him were dropped. A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles District Attorney's office stated "We determined that the suspect and victim had dated the same girl back-and-forth for over a year. There had been threats, and the victim sent several threatening messages to the suspect. Apparently, there was some mutual combat and Lovato attempted to separate himself from the victim when the victim challenged him to a fight. The victim followed Lovato to an isolated spot in the underground garage and tried to fight him. Lovato defended himself, and there was insufficient evidence to show that it was not a justifiable use of reasonable force in self-defense." When Tony's initial arrest was announced the future of A Permanent Holiday was obviously in question, particularly because at the time all information and music was erased from the APH myspace and the default photograph was replaced by a picture of MEST. However, soon after Tony was released from jail the band released their demo for "SOS".
