Al Anderson Biography
Al Anderson is best known as the guitarist for NRBQ during their heyday (early 70's to around 1991). Not only is he a truly amazing lead and rhythm guitarist, but he writes great songs and sings like a man possessed or an accomplished actual singer... often within the same tune. He has a few solo CD's to his credit, best of which is Pay At The Pump (killer tune on there called "It Came From The South"), and has written big hit country tunes for the likes of Carlene Carter and others. If I were to recommend just one "Big Al" (he's known as a large kinda guy) guitar solo, I'd be hard pressed to choose between NRBQ's "Get Rhythm" (from the Q's best collection ever... "At Yankee Stadium"... it is a studio effort)and perhaps "I Want You Bad"... best heard on the NRBQ best of called Peek a boo. The man can play. And Al, if you read this contact me... I have pizza... and I performed "It Comes To Me Naturally" in more dive/biker bars than I care to recall... sometimes with surprising results.
