Alexa Borden

"Speck in the Universe" is the music of 15 year-old Alexa Borden. She released her first album "Speck in the Universe" in April 2010. Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to two parents and an older brother. She developed a strong love for the fantastic literary world and became a fan of writing stories herself at a very young age. Alexa also immersed herself in older music, David Bowie, The Cure, The Police, Elton John, Elvis Costello and The Beatles. After teaching herself to play piano at the age of 13, Alexa increasingly invested her internal narratives into song form. She found solace in the melodic melancholia of new global British bands Aqualung, Radiohead, Coldplay, Keane, etc...Alexa Borden developed her sound- hypnotic piano arrangements under classic American melody fused into irresistible, atmospheric songs with the power to reach around the world.
