Alexandre Desplat Biography
Alexandre Desplat (born August 23, 1961 in Paris, France) is a film composer. He most recently scored the music for the movies: "The King's Speech", "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I", "The Special Relationship", "Tamara Drewe", "Fantastic Mr. Fox", "The Twilight Saga: New Moon", "Julie & Julia", "Coco Avant Chanel", "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", "The Nest" and "The Golden Compass". Other scores include "Lust, Caution", "Firewall", "The Luzhin Defence", "Girl with a Pearl Earring", "Syriana", "Birth", "Casanova", "The Painted Veil" and "The Queen", for which he received his first Academy Award nomination, in 2007. In 2009, he received 2 World Soundtrack Academy Awards as Film Composer of the Year & Best Film Score of the Year ("The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"). He is also to compose the score for the last installment in the Harry Potter film series: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" (July 2011).
