Alishia May

After starting out in Western Canada in 2007, Alishia May is climbing to the top of her local pop scene. The young, fifteen-year-old is in the process of recording her debut album. With standout tracks like "Over Blue Skies," and “Broken Angel”, look for Alishia May to be a major influence in the indie pop landscape for years to come. She is close to dominating the radio airwaves far and wide and is an essential addition to any indie-pop lover's library. May is a great influence and does her best to be a role model to her younger fans. Her catchy hooks with finger-picked guitar, softly-played piano and mild-tempo drums produce gorgeous compositions and her acoustic flare adds to her original artist character. Alishia hopes to look ahead and see that in the future there will be endless excitements and possibilities for her career. She is initiative but careful in how she pursues her dreams of becoming Canada's next top artist. Alishia’s first concert was at the age of 12, at a small local cafe at Christmas time of 2006. It was small but it helped her realize her dream of becoming famous. 2009 and 2010 are going to be the biggest years yet as she brings out her debut album and her second album. Her fans wish her good luck in all of her success.The fifteen-year-old has been singing at school concerts, and charity events since the age of three. Her older sister was seven at the time and was into different arts also. This brought Alishia up to a level of wanting to join her school's choir. When grade one started, she went to the auditions for her Christmas play. She only got a little part but this would jumpstart her soon to be career in the performing world. For Alishia this sudden interest at the age of 6, in acting and singing was phenomenal. As soon as grade two started she went to the music room and joined Junior Choir. Through changing schools and choir at all of them, Alishia has had a total of 8 years of vocals. Now she uses it to her potential.
