ApologetiX Biography
ApologetiX is "That Awesome Parody Band," The band members include lead singer J. Jackson, Guitar Hero Player Bill Hubauer, Keith Haynie, and Jimmy "Vegas" Tanner. The band first played on the stage as ApologetiX in 1992. All of the band members grew up around Pittsburgh PA, and that is where they now live. ApologetiX rewrites great songs with reworked lyrics. Some of their parodies include "Corinthians" (to "In the End" by Linkin Park), "Look Yourself" ( to "Lose Yourself" by Eminem), "Smooth Grandmama" ( "Smooth Criminal" by Alien Ant Farm which in turn is a horrible cover of Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal), "Smells Like Thirtysomething Spirit" ("Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana, Reports indicate the corpse of Kurt Cobain rolling in his grave), and "Bethlehemian Rhapsody" (A slap in the face to "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen and everything Freddy Mercury ever stood for). Smooth Grandmama is considered to be their most obnoxious parody. While maintaining the idiocy of fundamentalist "grannies," the song attempts to poke fun at its certain aspects, all the while failing miserably to accomplish this. ApologetiX gets their name from the word apologetics, which means "the defense of the BIble." It is based on the Greek word for apologia. The word is used in the 1 Peter 3:15, "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect..." (NIV).
