Bill Deraime

Born in 1947 in Senlis in the Oise, Bill Deraime is too taken by American music to look seriously at his medical studies and then physiotherapist. He therefore landed in Paris in 1968 and founded the group that participated in Wandering hootenanies mythical centre of American scenes open where everyone can interpret two or three titles. He played in the MJC festivals and took a drive on the roads and stopped in rurals and cities all the way from Paris to Stockholm in his Citroen. In 1969 he founded a band called TMS Folk Center with a group musicians in St. Germain des Pres, they've held concerts every Thursday evening and a "free clinic" all day. This was a glorious and joyful experience for hippies, backpackers, communities and also the great era of festivals. With his friends he founded the Backdoor Jug Band where, in addition to songs the group recorded an album where everyone can express themselves. Bill resumed the journey in 1975 with Bill and Flo Blues Tandem and then they've formed a group under the name electrical Cargo, they made concerts, wrote lots of songs but this did not go for long. In 1979, Bill decided to go Solo and for the first time he succeeded with the release of his first album which was successful and then in the same year he have met Mauro Serri who remain his guitarist until today. The next album « Plus la peine de frimer » was also another success. Bill went back to saving the world, he has spent some time in Central America, in a refugee camp with a friend who was part of « Médecin du monde » at that period.
