Chemistar Biography
“We need to do something about this”… were the simple words that began the union between SHADE HAYDEN, singer, front man, songwriting visionary and Al – B, drummer, producer, sonic architect. The basics were already in place with a strong friendship, and respect and admiration for each other’s work. They were convinced beyond conscious reason that the phenomenon we call “music” is kinetic and alive. So they set out to create music that is as powerful, and yet as sensitive as life itself. Immediately, it became clear that for Shade and Al – B to achieve their aspirations, they needed to be embraced by people who believed their creative mission, shared their passion, and had the patience for them to craft their work until complete. And so, what has begun as a mere particle of thought has grown into a tangible existence; Fertilized by a team of people who saw early on the imagination, the effort, and unbounded possibilities. Encouraged by the turbulence of these extraordinary times, Shade and Al – B pulled from every part of their life experience to create songs without borders, and often without attachment to the same genre. This unique team of writers and performers sculpted a sound that is an extension of the many different emotions we all feel, experience, suffer through, and triumph over daily. Their music is evidenced by the recognition and acknowledgement that the universe is a very beautiful, and sometimes terribly dangerous place. Though Shade and Al – B have a past in music that they appreciate, and often revel in, it is of no pressing concern to lean on for validation. All things seem clear to them now… This is a new beginning called CHEMISTAR!
