Cherie & Marie Currie Biography
After an only 4-year-lasting career as the lead singer of The Runaways, plus a rather unsuccessful solo album Beauty's Only Skin Deep (1978), Cherie Currie teamed up with her twin sister Marie (who was originally also invited to join The Runaways) to record Messin' With the Boys (1980). For the recordings the girls were supported by well-known session musicians such as Steve Lukather, Bobby Kimball, Mike Pocaro, David Paich, Tommy Funderburk and Bill Champlin (amongst others). Unfortunately the album only charted low in the US. Before a follow-up album for Capitol Records could be finished the sisters were dropped from their contract. After the dissolution of their joint work, Cherie continued musical, TV and film appearances, while Marie first pursued working as an actress, but soon entered a civic family life.
