Chris Star Biography
"Your Typical Rockstar Story...?" Chris Star first picked up a plastic guitar and performed at the age of 4 for his classmates. Taking piano lessons at 8 and learning to sing from his mother, he finally bought his first guitar at 12 years old and began to teach himself to play. It wasn't long after when he composed his first song and started playing them with his band. Chris played his first show at the age of 14 and within a year his band was opening for national acts (such as The Blood Brothers). Playing bigger and bigger shows Star decided to bank a little off of the event business. Graduating high school as a junior meant that throwing parties and coordinating events at large venues became a full-time job for Star. So at the age of 16 he opened his first business. The company was named Outlaw Industries, the industry was clothing and events, and business was good! The drug business was also booming in Star's home city and so Chris found himself chasing the money. Young and tenacious, the aspiring musician spent a good three years dodging bullets and zipping baggies. A couple years later the economy took a dive and at 19 Chris figured he needed a "real" career, and started racing horses. Go figure. So he bounced around all over the country (from California to New Jersey) riding race horses and writing music. After a couple of years and some dangerous spills he moved back home. Not long after that he moved once again but this time for music. 21 and living in Tucson, AZ he started working on a solo project simultaneously playing lead guitar and singing in a band (not to mention partying every single night). But with a new name (Star Project), the freedom of working alone and nothing but good feedback from his fans he decided to pursue pop music. He found out he needed two knee surgeries from some riding injuries and was put on very strong pain pills. Laid up and drugged up even more than before he started back on his project. The pills went faster and the music slowed down, so he figured another move was in order. Once again moving home, it wasn't very long until the drugs returned. Sometime went by and after almost a year long battle with heroin, living on the streets and pawning everything he owned the 23 year old artist was walking out of rehab with a guitar in his hand and more original songs than he could count. Now on the rise to fame and talking with (major labels, sought after independent A&R, and radio stations) Star has found his sound and is planning on making music history. ...and so the story continues...
