The epitome of the New St. Louis is none other than 7Fourteen Entertainment artists Da Banggaz314. The combination of Iklips, Looney and Nonna burst on the scene earlier this year with the hotter than fish grease, tear da.. club down anthem "Ain't No B*tch In Me." The hard hitting, crunk flavored cut, produced by 7Fourteen resident producer Steve-T, unleashed a verbal and sonic assault on the rap universe that lead to a major distribution deal through Atlantic Records. And although it seems Da Banggaz are an overnight sensation, they're not; just hard working artists who pounded the pavement until situations put them in the path of least resistance, forging a friendship and a sound that may just be lights years ahead of its time. Some unforeseen circumstances turned out to be beneficial for everyone involved. Well, at least for those who stuck around. "I was originally in this group with about three of four other guys called Da Banggaz," Iklips says about the latter group's 2005 commencement. The group did not work out, which caused the disbanding of Da Banggaz. This left Iklips and L (Looney)to fend for themselves. Nonna was a backup dancer for L when he was solo, so she was asked to become part of the group. Once Nonna joined the fold..she had never rapped until officially hooking up with Da Banggaz..the synergy peeked. Backed by Steve-T instrumentals and the unconditional support of 714, Da Banggaz eventually created a massive buzz with their point em out chant, leading to a showcase for label reps that resulted in the Atlantic deal just a mere three days later.
