Dazaranha Biography
Dazaranha is a rock band from Florianópolis, South Brazil. The band began in August 1992, and it was distinguished in the musical scene because of two things: its uncommon line up, with violin and percussion allied to traditional instruments of pop rock; and songs that sound like a combination of 70s rock and reggae. In 1994, they recorded the song "Retroprojetor" for the compilation "Ilha de Todos os Sons", with another bands of Florianópolis. Later, in 1996, it was released their first album, "Seja Bem Vindo". 1997 was marked by the tours and the exit of percussionist Gerry, who returned three years later. In 1998 it was released their most famous album, "Tribo da Lua", with special guests as Jorge Benjor and Luiz Carlini. It brought national recognition, because of the song "Vagabundo Confesso", well known of orients from South Brazil. In 1999 drummer Zé Caetano left the band. In the following year the band began to built a self studio to record their third album, "Nossa Barulheira", released in March 2004, consolidating Dazaranha as one of the greatest brazilian rock bands. The line up today is: Gazu (vocals), Moriel (guitar), Chico (guitar), Adauto (bass), Adriano (drums), Fernando (violin), and Gerry (percussions). Website: http://www.dazaranha.com
