Debra Davis Biography
Debra Davis writes uplifting Americana-rock songs that hit deep. The singer/songwriter and her “band of gold” are powerfully fun live, and have a big national following of fans who call themselves “debheads.” Debra is a storyteller---her songs make you think and feel…and sing along. Her latest CD, “Complete” (GCG Records), is packed with some of her most powerful material yet. “In the course of a couple years I was dealing with loss of loved ones, and then the birth of my daughter, Ella. So this album speaks of survival, and of the whole the circle of life.” The first single, “Born to Love You,” features a duet with 5-time Grammy winner Christopher Cross. Songs from Debra’s 3 CDs---”Complete,” “Angels in the Attic” and “Uninvited Guests”--- have been featured on numerous TV shows including “Beautiful People” (ABC), “Dawson’s Creek“ (WB), “Joan of Arcadia” (CBS), “Any Day Now” (Lifetime), “The Bold & The Beautiful” (CBS), and films like “Dangerous Proposition,” “Implicated,” and “All You Need.” Her song “Supernatural High” is the end title track for a new indie film, and she has 4 songs on the soundtrack to the popular women’s Web TV series “We Have to Stop Now,” starring Meredith Baxter Bierny. She wrote the new theme song, “Girl of the World,” for the Global Girl Media organization, empowering underserved girls with skills and opportunities across the world. Debra’s songs inspired a book of angel stories called “An Angel In My Life,” written by children and sponsored by RIF, Reading Is Fundamental. She also co-founded the non-profit group Music Heals, bringing arts enrichment to inner-city kids. Debra’s music can be heard on radio stations nationwide, Internet radio, retail in-store and airline in-flight music stations. She was featured on the “Real Artists Working” documentary on PBS affiliates, on the “Innervieworld” music interview webcast, & on an “Angel Encounters” episode (TNN, The Nashville Network) that explored the stories behind her songs. Debra was featured as the cover story in “Singer/Musician” national magazine. Her song, “Supernatural High,” is the SonyWonder CD single for the best-selling kids’ book series “Avalon: Web of Magic,” and her new song, “Golden” is promoting the books’ new Manga series. Debra has toured nationwide playing festivals and venues like Summerfest, the Bluebird in Nashville, Billboard Live, House of Blues, the Troubadour and the Coach House in SoCal, Palm Springs PRIDE, Eat’m Las Vegas, LA Marathon, AIDS Walk LA, Revlon Run/Walk, , as well as numerous radio on-airs and morning TV shows.
