Decontrolled Biography
Decontrolled originate from Belgrade, Serbia and their musical journey started in the year of 2003 as a solo project of Marko Tica, a drummer from a band Apocalypse. After a few months, the project started to gain public attention in the homeland with a few demo recordings. In the beginning of 2005 Marko joins band State Of Gray, where he finds few people interested in taking part in Decontrolled. In following months band self-releases a demo pack called “Unleashed” as a compilation of all demo releases which gained good critics once again. End of 2005 brings a first solid lineup, consisting of Marko Tica – guitars-vocals, Аleksandar Vučetić – vocals, Pavle Lekić – vocals, Miloš Milić – bass, Marko Protić – guitars, Matija Dagović – drums i Sanjin Ćorović – keyboards. With this lineup band goes through the year of 2006, releasing another demo, pre-album release “Self Portrait” and also a split demo disc with Draconic. In the following year of 2007, while recording a debut album, Vuk Kazimirović substitutes Marko Protić as a new guitarist. With numerous difficulties, recording is finished in the middle of 2008, followed by another lineup change. Аleksandar Vučetić leaves the band and Marko Tica takes a role of a lead vocalist. In the summer of 2008, band starts to play shows and begins their search for a record label. After playing Exit festival in Novi Sad, Serbia, headlining position on Neofest in Banja Luka, Bosnia and a numerous homeland shows, band sings with Mascom Automatic and Mr. Metal labels. Debut album “Self Portait” was officially out in December 1st, 2008. In the beginning of 2009. Mića Kovačević replaces Matija on drums. He participated in band's first ever video clip for song "Awakening II" and performed with the band when they supported In Flames in SKC, Belgrade. In May 2009, Decontrolled entered the Chainroom studio once again and started working on their second album, which will bear the title "The Circle". Later that year, Andrej Mišić came in band as a more permanent solution on drums due to Mića's commitments and extensive touring with other bands/projects. During the same year, Decontrolled loses another one of the original members - Sanjin Ćorović (keyboards) who decided that he couldn't be doing multiple tasks at the same time (that being his job, studies and the band), so he decided to leave the band out of the equation. Second quarter of the year 2010 brought more changes to band's line-up. Drummer position has been taken by a young, promising drummer by the name of Đorđe Stojiljković who has been recommended to the band by Andrej Mišić (and Marko Zečević of Belgrade's death metal band Through Art). Đorđe performed brilliantly during EXIT festival and Graviton fest and now is officially the youngest in the band, being born in 1993 (while the rest of the band goes from 1982 to 1985). Decontrolled performed on EXIT festival 2010 in Novi Sad, Serbia, sharing the stage with American crossover veterans Suicidal Tendencies and multiple well established domestic bands. In July of 2010, after Graviton fest in Velenje, Slovenia, Miloš Milić decided to take a break from the band to focus on his studies, he has been replaced by band's good friend Filip Janković who originally auditioned for a guitar player in 2007, but didn't fill the spot due to Vuk's more motivated playing on audition. The band continues to rehearse and play live, and is booked for concerts and festivals in 2010. Current line-up: Marko "Mr. Metal" Tica – Guitars-Vocals Pavle "Lil' D-twistah (Skinny Dog Twister)" Lekić – Vocals Vuk "Woochyna (Big Wolf)" Kazimirović – Guitars Filip Janković – Bass Đorđe "StojkeDjole (beer fetcher, and a good one too)" Stojiljković – Drums
