Divlje Jagode Biography
Divlje jagode (trans. "Wild Strawberries") is a very popular hard rock Bosnian band formed in 1977 in Bihać by guitarist Sead "Zele" Lipovača, based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The band achieved high popularity with their first singles: hard rock ballads Jedina Moja (1977) and Patkica (1978) and a cover of Bosnian folk song Moj Dilbere (1978).They are one of the best selling artist in ex-Yugoslavia, selling over 4 millions albums. Main influence of the band was Van Halen. English keyboardist Don Airey played on their album Wild Strawberries, with songs sung in English. At the peak of their popularity in the 80's, Sead Zele Lipovaca was approached to join Whitesnake as lead guitarist, but refused.
