Genocide Biography
Genocide can refer to a number of bands, but the most common bands for this name are the pre-Repulsion band and the death/grind band from Portugal. Genocide was the original incarnation of the South African metal band, Crow Black Sky. There are/were at least 3 bands with the name Genocide in Japan: 1) The first one was formed 1979 in Fukui and released their first full-lenght album (Black Sanctuary) in 1988 through King Klassic. The band broke up in 1990 but reunited in late 90's. After that they've released two live albums and one best of/compilation. Their debut album Black Sanctuary is soon to be re-issued by Shadow Kingdom records. The band plays satanic heavy/speed metal in vein of Mercyful Fate, Witchfinder General, Venom etc. 2) The second Genocide, a heavy metal band from Tokyo, was formed in 1986 and released only one demo called Fire Doll in the same year. 3) The third Genocide was a japanese visual kei band that was formed in February 2008. They only released one distributed single called "Insanity of Silence" and performed their last live on the 31th of May 2008. And few more bands in other countries: 4) Genocide was raging raw punk with members of TUOMIOPÄIVÄN LAPSET and SORTO from Finland. In the first half of ninetees they recorded only one 12"LP named "Doomed for Destruction" and then split-up. This LP was later re-released as split 12"LP with SORTO's old demo material and also as a bonus songs on a 2CD discography of TUOMIOPÄIVÄN LAPSET. 5) Genocide was also a UK minimal synth/new wave band around 1980. 6) Genocide is also a Bosnian rap artist: http://genociderap.com/. 7) Genocide was also a Canadian crossover/rapcore band, which released an album called "For Your Mind" in 1996. 8) Genocide is also a Austrian NS Metal band. They have released one (?) album, Age Of Kataklysm. 9) Genocide is a South Korean Thrash Metal band. Featured on the "Am I Metallica" Korean tribute CD.
