Hello Gumption

Hello Gumption is the result of collaboration between song writers David Arcus and Brendan Quinn. The pair met in the summer of 2007 and began writing compositions for television and radio. A handful of these tracks stood out above the others, and since then, have been turned into full length songs. David and Brendan continue to write together, and as their compositions grow and evolve, so does the inevitability that soon they will have a full length album of their strongest work on their hands. David Arcus is a composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist based in Toronto, Canada. David obtained a degree in composition from the University of Toronto in 2005. As a composer, his works have appeared in film, radio and television including films screened at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, Vancouver Asian Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival and the Worldwide Short Film Festival. David is also the guitarist and co-arranger for the Aline Morales Band, a 10-piece band that fuses Northeastern Brazilian musical traditions with modern sounds and instrumentation. David has also worked with Maracatu Nunca Antes ( ) and Samba Elegua ( ). Brendan Quinn is a composer and producer currently working in the television and radio industry in Toronto, Canada. In addition to writing his own songs, Brendan has written and recorded music for several national television and radio campaigns, as well as the score for the Canadian feature film “Teddy Bear”. Brendan studied for a year at the School of Audio Engineering Institute in Sydney, Australia, followed by sound engineering positions at Trackdown Scoring Stage (where he worked with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra), and Electric Avenue studios. Brendan was the keyboardist and vocalist for his old Toronto band called pdq, which embarked on several tours throughout eastern Canada from Toronto to St. John’s Newfoundland.
