Hello Nurse Biography
Hello Nurse is a high-energy power pop band from Brooklyn, NY. Its current lineup was formed in the Winter of 2004 when Ed Gross (guitarist) and Mike Garcia (ex-lead singer) met on a cold East Village Street and exchanged demos. Garcia tried out for the band and was soon thereafter its new lead singer. The band has played countless shows throughout the Northeast and is continuing its never ending fine tuning of the poppy indie-rock ditties Hello Nurse is known for. With wildly energetic live sets and tight musical interplay, Hello Nurse is a band you should definitely check out. In May 2009, the band released its newest album WHAMbulance, containing more hook-laden power-pop with an infusion of slower and more melodical indie-rock. WHAMbulance marks a maturity in Hello Nurse's sound and a natural progression in the band's growth. In August 2009 and later October 2009 Hello Nurse's bassist (Joe Crespo) and its frontman (Mike Garcia) ended their tenures with Hello Nurse due to personal reasons. The former members remain supporters of Hello Nurse and left on amicable terms. Since then, Hello Nurse has added Mykee Shaffer on bass and is in search of their next frontman. The band continues to write new material and promises to grow from WHAMbulance's diverse sound and interesting arrangements. Current Members: Guitar - Ed Gross Drums/Backup Vocals - Christian Sparling Bass/Backup Vocals - Mykee Shaffer
