Herman Finkers Biography
Hermenegildus Felix Victor Maria (Herman) Finkers (Almelo, 9 December 1954) is a comedian from the Dutch region of Twente, who became famous because of his dry-witted humor and his ambiguous style of storytelling. He temporarily stopped performing in 2000 when he had been diagnosed with leukemia. On August 5, 2006 a Fuchsia was named after him. He speaks with a fairly strong Twents (low saxon) accent for comic effect and is able to speak the low saxon dialect itself fluently if his audience is able to understand this. He is also perfectly capable of non-regionally accented Dutch, however. Most recently he announced to go on with his career in theatre, now that he has "found renewed inspiration".
