In 2002 he slowed the gig pace just a bit and turned his attention to writing and recording, which he has been doing obsessively ever since. From concerts to festivals, and even one gorilla funeral at the zoo, Jim will play for anything. Jim dropped out of college to play at an amusement park. When the season was over he found himself broke, with no heat and clueless. Fortunately, he soon found a home with a road band and spent the next 6 years playing all over the southland with regional bands like Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs, The Catalinas, and Sugar Creek.
