One of Hendrix's long under-estimated posthumously released instrumental tracks, appearing in the film Rainbow Bridge and soundtrack album. Partly evocative of nature/running water perhaps, with lots of fancy blues playing and a definite Hawaiian feel, at least for me--all Hendrix. The aftermath of a very hot battle. Iraq or Afghanistan today. Overturned, bombed out vehicles littering the roadside. Smoke emanating from them while small fires burn in the shells of demolished buildings. A coldness ripples through the seams of the hot madness as the gods of war and death assess their domains. "Pali Gap", very aptly, describes that sad and forlorn landscape.
