Joal Kamps

Joal Kamps has accomplished a lot in under three years: he's written, recorded, produced, and released three studio albums; completed numerous tours across Western Canada; and has performed at music festivals and conferences in the United States, Europe and Canada - all as an independent artist no less!     2011 marks the highly anticipated release of his third studio album, ‘Sojourner’; an offering of stories in song which Joal has coined "rocky mountain folk".  With a childhood influenced by a soundtrack of great storytelling artists like Simon & Garfunkel, Kamps has the innate ability to craft songs that dismantle pretenses and allow you to feel at home - and find yourself within his lyrics.     Joal currently resides just East of the Canadian Rockies in Calgary, AB.  Close to the Weaselhead Flats and and Griffith Woods, you can often find him out tromping through the underbrush in search of the next great swimming-hole, or recharging his creative spirit beneath the boughs of a white spruce - guitar always within arms reach.   'Sojourner' (2011), 'the RED EP' (2009) and 'Waiting' (2008) are all available for purchase online at iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby, as well as at all live performances.
