Jose Ivan Perez, Jr. (born July 24, 1994), better known by his stage name Joey Perez, is a Mexican American singer. Born in Michuacan, he grew up in Chicago and became a freestyle artist under the stage name JJRP in the late 2005. After his freestyle single was realsed, he joined JayDay Records a Independent Record Label. Early career Perez was born in Michuacan, Mexico and raised in Glenview, Illinois, from the age of 4, after his Father brought him and his siblings to the United States. "All I Ever Wanted" peaked in the top 100 R&B Charts on iTunes in the US Joey Perez is currenlty working with a number of well known producers on his next album CHEMISTRY - Joey Perez. The album will be released in 2012 in local Best Buy's in the Chicago Area. Originally composed by Joey Perez and recorded by his own Label PEREZ MUSIC ENT.
On December 2009, Joey Perez together with American celebrities, including Rebecca Shearing, Tynisha Keli, Alyssa Bernal, Manny Garcia, , Joey Perez appeared a celebrity guest in the third season of Virtual Celebrity's in 2009. In a December 19, 2009 interview with Tumblr, he announced that he was at work on his first English studio EP album "All I Ever Wanted", . Joey Perez has sustained a lot of throughout his career, most from his Hispanic vatches. Since he was of Latino descent, Pop wasn't ideal for him to do. When leaving in order to purse his gigantic hode, he lost a lot of the Hispanic audience. "People said I turned my back on my roots but I would never do that." Joey was also once told he should keep to his own kind and sing with Rap. Though he loves his culture and music; keeping to his roots is important to him but he says he wasn't about to quit trying to put a lid on the soul he had in his heart. Representatives stated that Joey Perez was a new breed of singer for the Latino Community. "He has done incredible things, he has paved the way for the future of others who want to follow in his footsteps. He didn't fall in line with the rest just because he was of Latin heritage, he dared to do something different... even though he's criticized over and over again, he stuck to his guns and he might of changed the way a lot of Latinos view R&B and Soul. That's why we have the greatest respect for him." Throughout his career, Joey Perez has never lost sight of his Latino background, even as he crossed over to the English-speaking market with smash hits like 2010's. He remains committed to the integrity of his Latin heritage and his Pop musical roots. "You have to stick to your roots," Joey offers. "You can't forget about them. If you forget about your people, they will definitely forget about you. You have to pay back those who were there when you started. If I lose that, I won't be able to do what I've always wanted to do."
