Julianne

Julianne is the ONLY local Filipino artiste signed by MCA Music Inc. in the Philippines. Her music has been described as Filipino/Philippine Soul or OPM (Original Pilipino Music) Soul and represents an ongoing Pilipino Soul Movement in the Philippines represented by other Filipino bands like SinoSikat?, Pinoy Stories, Cosmic Love & Kapatid. Julianne not only sings her own compositions but is an amazing guitar instrumentalist that needs to be seen to be believed. The influences in her music like India Arie, Jewel, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, D'sound, Brand New Heavies, Incognito, Amel Larreuix, Vivian Green, Alicia Keys, Alana Davis, Aimee Mann and Amy Winehouse are easily recognizable in her compositions but it is her original and courageous Filipina experiences and sensibilities that provide a unique aural hearscape for the uninitiated to listen by. She has just released her first album entitled "Grateful" under MCA and all the songs are her own compositions except the song "Empty Chairs" which she composed together with her friend Carisse Escueta.
