Lauren Mandel is an up and coming sixteen-year-old singer and songwriter with a passion for performance and a desire to be the next big pop star! Lauren has co-written her first EP with songwriter/producer and multi-instrumentalist, JP Rende. Lauren's songs deliver a subtle, positive message to her generation and with a genuine sense of authenticity and leadership. BREAKING NEWS ********************************************************************************* LAUREN will release her three track EP on iTunes in November ********************************************************************************* Lauren’s Welcome to the House of Freaks co-written with JP Rende, summarizes what she feels about being a teenager stuck in high school for four years. “Everyone is different and freaky, but that’s OK, everyone is stuck here”, she says with a smile. “Adolescents are freaks - only a fractured image of what they might be in the future. We’re still experimenting with which parts of ourselves we want to show the world”. Don’t Ever Back Down is Lauren’s positive response to working under pressure whether it’s in the workplace or simply at school. It shows a determination to move forward and not dwell on past difficulties. Lauren’s third song, Us vs. You is a girls vs. boys song. “When you make a mistake about falling for a boy who doesn’t live up to your expectations, it’s your girlfriends that can bring you back to reality. It’s important for girls to have a positive sense of their own self-worth”. This first EP of original material written by Lauren is self-released on the Likely to Smile Record label. Biography In summer of 2008, Lauren received a scholarship to study with Deborah Gibson in Los Angeles at Deborah’s newly formed “Camp Electric Youth”.
