Lena Zavaroni

Lena Zavaroni (1963 – 1999) was a Scottish singer, born on the Isle of Bute. At the age of ten she appeared on TV’s “Opportunity Knocks” singing “Ma, He’s Making Eyes At Me”. The song reached number 8 in the UK pop charts in 1974. Lena performed sell-out concerts in the mid-70s and later had her own BBC TV show. Sadly she suffered from anorexia nervosa, which appears to have contributed to her premature death.
