Liferuiner Biography
xLIFERUINERx was originally founded as a straight-edge, hardcore band, from the Greater Toronto Area, Canada formed in 2004. The band was originally created to make a sort of joke against mainstream straight-edge bands by writing lyrics about hate and death rather than preaching their lifestyle. The band is currently on its second incarnation, dubbed "Liferuiner US" by fans. The Canadian band has released two full albums: No Saints, and Taking Back The Night Life. Over the years, the lineup and name of xLIFERUINERx has changed extensively, with the band having over NINE THOOOUUUSAAAND members perform songs written by a core six people. In August 2008, Liferuiner US stated that the most recent line-up would be their last and final lineup; that if any of them quit, the band is over. After that announcement, Ryan Carr quit the band, and Liferuiner US disbanded, although not before completing a tour of Europe without Carr. Since then, spokespeople for Liferuiner US have announced that they are once again active, and have named themselves xLIFERUINERx. In May 2009, Liferuiner posted a blog on MySpace, it reads, 'Now for the bad news…while we were in California we lost our vocalist and guitar player. Aj and Marc had to go home because of some personal reasons. They are still a band but will no longer hitting Europe up this summer. On September 2, 2009, members of Burn This City touring & performing as Liferuiner were viciously attacked by an unidentified gang of youths in Dayton, Ohio, outside the Jazz Central venue. In December of 2009, they released a humorous song called "A Hard Man is Good to Find", poking fun at the dubious rumored sexuality of the lead singer. This sparked whisperings of a possible European tour, but the band has not yet confirmed it.
