Like The Stars

Like The Stars is an American pop punk band from Point Pleasant, New Jersey formed in 2008. The band comprises lead vocalist AJ Hoenings, guitarists Nick Kaelblien and Connor Appleton, bassist Nick VanderMaas, and drummer Joey Trala. They recorded their first two song demo with Jeff Wallace of Entrolab Recording Studio's with their original line up consisting of Greg Bonavito on guitar and Chris Marino on drums (Pre- Connor & Joey). After disbanding in the summer of 2008, AJ Hoenings and Nick VanderMaas sought out drummer Mike Pallaro to record a two song demo at Portrait Studios (The Starting Line, The Early November, Hello Goodbye) in hopes to find a new lineup to continue Like The Stars. In the fall of 2008, the original lineup consisting of AJ, Nick, Greg, Nick, and Chris got back together to headline the Aftermath Festival at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey infront of major record label Capitol Records. Although plans fell through, they did not let that hold them back.They revamped the band and added Joey Trala (ex - Date This Diary, Carolina Affair) on the drums and started writing non-stop for their EP. They demo'd two new songs at 368 Studios to which they recieved a high appriasal from both old and new fans alike. Shortly after releasing the new songs, they replaced Greg Bonavito with Connor Appleton on guitar and got back to heavy writing. Within the next couple months they re-defined their writing process and live performance and headed into Vudu Recording Studio's in January 09' to work with Mike Watts and Scott Justynowicz (As Tall As Lions, Self Against City, The Junior Varsity) to record their debut EP, slated for an Spring of 09' release. With many shows and radio appearances under their belts, and big plans for 2009. Like The Stars is one band you are sure to be hearing alot from through out the year.
