Lotus Effect

Lotus Effect is a rock band from Houston, Texas, known for their progressive flavor of alternative rock. Compared to Soul Asylum and Muse, their signature sound incorporates rock, blues, and metal, with syncopated groove compositions, unconventional time signatures and melodic yet aggressive vocals. Formed in 2006 by progressive drummer Gabriel Blog and bassist Jason Malley, the lineup was finalized in 2008 with the addition of guitarist Rick Marquez and singer Dremaceo Giles. Although the band has only been performing since 2009, they have opened for Semi-Precious Weapons, Nico Vega, Major League Soccer team Houston Dynamo at Robertson Stadium, played Texas Rockfest at SXSW, headlined 94.5FM The Buzz Texas Music Showcase and The United Musicians Alliance Stage at Mardi Gras Galveston. Recently released their latest EP "Rabbits and Royalty," produced by Mike Thompson of Ivory Tower Studios (Close Your Eyes - Victory Records, American Fangs - InDeGoot Management) and mastered by Bob Boyd of Ambient Digital (MuteMath, Our Lady Peace.)
