Marger Biography
Marger; also known as “MG”, was born in a beautiful town in Venezuela. The singer and songwriter is the product of a Venezuela mother with a Trinitarian father.Raised between Venezuela and Trinidad Tobago, Marger represents a multicultural generation. Marger grew up inspired by the music that filled her family home; Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Earth Wind and Fire, Donna Summer rhythms of Calypso and a lot of Disco music. "My mother would also play Celia Cruz, and Gloria Estefan, and I absorbed all of it..." Marger remembers. At the age of 14 she stepped into a recording studio for the first time, to record her very first single “Como Olvidarte”. Soon after the song started showing a strong radio airplay and therefore took her into her very first promotional tour. Immediately after that, Marger landed the leading role in the Latin version of Broadway’s musical and motion picture smash hit “Fame”. On tour with “Fame”, Marger was able to expose her talent in most of Latin America’s most important countries: Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Argentina among others. Marger’s performance was acclaimed in every stage where she performed; Fame received numerous nominations as one of the best musical in Mexico.” It was there in Mexico where musically and artistically I grew up the most...It was an amazing experience”... she comments. Marger’s career continued ascending while living in Argentina, where she performed in musicals with notorious Broadway and Argentinean Directors. She landed the lead Role in “Little Shop of Horrors”, and also she was part of a Tribute to the Best Musicals of Broadway were she interpreted “Chicago” and “Cabaret”. Simultaneously with her theatrical career she was recording her own music and participating in different television shows and soap operas, like the Argentina’s #1show with Diva Susana Jimenez. In a life changing move, and influenced by her desire to expand her career MG moved to Miami where she started her own musical projects. She was selected to participate in the Hispanic version of American Idol: “Protagonistas de la Musica”; one of the U.S. and Puerto Rico most successful reality music shows in Hispanic Television. Marger immediately became one of the favorite contestants among the audience, and her name became a household name among Hispanic households throughout the nation. She recorded two albums with “Protagonistas” the first one achieved “Gold “ status and sold over 100.000 copies. Soon after the show ended, MG started experimenting with different sounds and fusions. She also became a composer for other artist like KIULDRET a Sony/BMG artist. Marger recorded a Latin Pop project with Colombian producer German Ortiz. She also has worked and is currently working with important producers like Iker Gastaminza (Shakira’s Oral Fixation), Humberto "HUMBY" Viana (Daddy Yankee),Frankie Bigzz, Fernando Rojo (RBD)among other established and new producers. Marger has been featured in other talent’s projects: such as Ricardo Montaner, Olga Tañon and Tego Calderon. Marger debut album “Cómo te digo” is schedule to be released in April 2009, and promises to have all the ingredients that make musical magic. She co-wrote most of the songs in her CD, “This is a very sincere album..” she manifest. This album also bring an extra track: The love song of the soap opera hit “El Rostro de Analia” Tuya Otra vez, this successful show is presented in more than 20 countries and the love song is one of the hottest song of the show, and already have a fan base over fifty two thousand viewers on youtube. This Cd is pure Pop music with some dance spice and infused with power ballads. Marger is guaranteed to supply some serious heat for both radios and clubs nation wide.
