Matanza Biography
Matanza is a Rock 'n' Roll band from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil . The band mixes various elements of Country, Folk and Bluegrass with Rock 'n' Roll, Hardcore and Heavy Metal. Letters, mostly humorous, talk about drinking, women and violence. Have an atmosphere of old American West. The press dubbed the style created by the band Country Core, a term later adopted by their members, The band members are fans of Johnny Cash, and in 2005 they recorded an album of versions of songs from the early phase of his career (1955-1958), dubbed as "To Hell with Johnny Cash." In the penultimate album, "A Arte do Insulto", the Matanza explores various aspects of Irish traditional music, adding generous influence of Slayer and Motorhead. The video clip of the song "Clube dos Canalhas" was directed by award winning director Rudi Lagemann.
