Md. 45 Biography
NOTE: This artist is a duplicate of MD.45. MD.45 was a side project of Megadeth Singer/Guitarist Dave Mustaine, along with Lee Ving of Fear (vocals), Kelly LiMieux (bass), and Jimmy DeGrasso (drums, later to join Megadeth). Considering recent lineup changes in Megadeth, MD.45 could be considered Megadeth as much as The System Has Failed. Mustaine, who had temporarily lost interest in Megadeth, perhaps due to the more mainstream sound Megadeth was developing around this time. MD.45's first album, The Craving, was released July 23rd, 1996. The two Megadeth albums before and after this, Youthanasia and Cryptic Writings, were two of the most pop sounding of Megadeth's albums. MD.45 did not tour in support of The Craving, so it did not find any great commercial success. In 2004, The Craving was in the remastering process, and the harmonica & vocal tracks had been lost. Since many Megadeth fans who had bought the album expressed a desire to hear Dave Mustaine's voice instead of Lee Ving's, Mustaine performed the vocals on the remastered release. The harmonica track was simulated with a guitar. The name MD.45 comes from the initials of Dave Mustaine backwards, and Lee Ving's initials in roman numerals.
