Middle Earth

Middle Earth is a Celtic, medieval acoustic rock band from Cape Town, South Africa in 2007. The bands lyrical theme and feel is rooted in mythology and nature. The sound ranges from quiet background to upbeat acoustic rock, depending on the nature of the event. Middle Earth perform in three different genres: Celtic: This consists of a lengthy repertoire of old Irish jigs and reels. Medieval: Times of old - Great joy and romance for feasts revels and cavalcades. Fantasy Rock: An acoustic rock format, incorporating both the other genres. Except for most of the Celtic and some of the medieval, all of Middle Earth's music is original. Band members: Cliff West: Guitar, lead vocals, recorder and occasional percussion (The creative writer of a series of bands, culminating in RavenWolf) Dan van Tonder: Violin, backing vocals, recorders.
