Miss Daja

Daja's love affair with music began at a very young age. Her main inspiration was her mother, who then, was an active member in several local music groups. Daja's favorite pastime as a child was to tag along to her mother's group rehearsals. It was those moments that birthed the passion of her life. Daja spent the rest of her childhood honing her crafts such singing, dancing and writing. In 2008, Daja wrote a song for her first mixtape project entitled "Mean Walk". Though she knew that the song was a hit in its production stages, she felt that it needed something else to be complete. Unbeknownst to her that feeling brought forth a collaboration with the then unsigned Queens rapper, Nicki Minaj, who at the time was generating much acclaim in New York.The end result was amazing! Since its July 4th, 2010 release, "Mean Walk" has received some great reviews and has garnered over 14,000 views and counting. Daja has since written songs for several other local artists including collaborations with Babs Bunny, a member from P.Diddy’s "Making the Band", and an up and coming rapper named Chris Webby, to name a few. Her talents have attracted a solidified fan base in the Tri-state area through the mediums of live performance and video postings via her YouTube channel, which has more than 25,000 views to date.
