Morning Wood

apparently there's two bands called morning wood. one is a screamo band from arezzo, italy, the other one is a rock band from new york. (1) morning wood is marco, lore, fizio and bekko from arezzo, italy, who play a style of hardcore//screamo influenced by bands such as orchid, reversal of man, pg.99, black flag or ampere. they have released a s/t ep in 2008, other releases are planned. they are part of the diy scene and will tour europe this summer. (2) Morningwood is a rock band from New York City, USA, founded in 2001. Morningwood is signed to Capitol Records.Morningwood received national exposure in the United States as a finalist in December 2005 Yahoo.com's Who's Next. They also gained much attention from touring with New York band Mindless Self Indulgence. Morningwood was scheduled to play alongside Courtney Love but the tour fell through due to Love's recent legal trouble. They did, however, open for Gang of Four on their 2005 reunion tour. Their debut album, Morningwood, was produced by Gil Norton, known for his work with Pixies, Catherine Wheel, and Echo and the Bunnymen. Singles from the album include "Nth Degree", "Jetsetter" and "New York Girls". They toured with Mindless Self Indulgence, Head Automatica, Gang of Four, Kasabian, and The Sounds on various legs of their US gigs in 2006. Morningwood's "Nth Degree" has been used in several Mercury vehicle commercials, featuring actress Jill Wagner. Their song "Nü Rock" was used in the video games Burnout Revenge and SSX On Tour. A demo version of a Morningwood song called Warrior was used in a Payless shoes TV spot. Morningwood's lead singer is famous for commanding audience members to take off their clothes--typically when the song "Take Off Your Clothes" is performed. A brave male or female spectator will often climb atop the stage and strip. However, actual nudity seldom occurs--the participants usually just strip to their underwear. The band is presently finishing up work on a new album.
