MYNORiTY The word entrepreneur is a term that many people use loosely and sometimes inaccurately. When it comes to the young and talented hip hop artist known as MYNORiTY (aka Myno, born Jamel Wright), an entrepreneur is one of the only terms that can be used to describe him. He prides himself on being passionate about every aspect of the business especially the art. This articulate and well spoken hip hop artist from the streets of Brooklyn maintains himself as a serious businessman with a swagger that makes him only stand out more. His ability to sit on “both sides of the desk” and do well in either position is what makes his followers stay close. With the recent launch of his new web series, MynoTV (hosted on blip.tv), people are guaranteed to see the inner workings of his life, both business and personal. After writing and executive producing music for up-and-coming Disney child star actor/rapper Dabier, successfully signing 2 prominent hip hop artists (Crewl-T and G. Vega) to his record label Dollatarian Records, and 3 mixtape releases that gained him a nice buzz, Myno is looking to use the momentum to do even more. With his partner and label co-owner, Chris W. Burke by his side helping to run the company, the success of both Dollatarian and MYNORiTY is imminent. Coming from a very urban environment when growing up, Myno understands that plans don’t always go as expected, but that’s its still good to have one. In his 2-5 year plan, he is not only focused on the music side of entertainment but also on the film side. After starring in several independent feature films and being selected for the lead role in an HBO series pilot entitled Paper Chase, he wrote two full feature screenplays – one being a romantic comedy and the other being an action suspense thriller. He has hopes to at least shoot one of them under his subsidiary, Dollatarian Films. Currently focused more on the music side of his career, Myno is recording tracks towards his debut album entitled The Commencement. The project is scheduled for a mid 2010 release and will be distributed independently by Dollatarian Records. Though the project will be released and distributed independently, it will be promoted and marketed as if by a major label. There are even plans to launch a nationwide promotional tour with over 25 states. While recording towards his debut release, Myno is also in the studio with his artists Crewl-T and G. Vega recording towards their mixtape releases, as well as tracks towards their solo projects. In addition to solo projects for all 3 artists, Myno is also working on the 4th installment of his mixtape series, which will be released prior to the album. With all of the hard work put forth thus far, MYNORiTY is sure to be a household name to be remembered for years to come.
