Myrra Biography
A Midwestern girl, Myrra was born in a Chicago, Illinois blizzard, and spent her childhood snowed in in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her parents, wanting to explore life in "The Old Country", moved the family accross the Atlantic to Stockholm, Sweden, when Myrra was in her early teens. Music always played an important role in her life although she never considered it as a profession. Growing up Myrra wanted to become a veterinarian, a naturalist, a dog psychologist or an anthropologist. Playing various instruments and taking dance classes was just as much fun as participating in the weekend softball games or fencing matches. When music did become a serious passion, Myrra found herself, in her late teens, suddenly embarking upon a professional career on the stage in shows like Cats, West Side Story, and Fiddler on the Roof. Drawn to the musical theatre for the love of the music, but also for the never-ending challenge of it - there's always one more thing you have to learn, one more skill that needs honing - Myrra decided she wanted to put herself to the test and left Sweden for England and London's West End. She quickly established herself as a leading lady in shows like Phantom of The Opera, Les Mis?ables and Great Expectations, and in concerts like The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber in St Paul's Cathedral. In addition to numerous concert- and tv-appearances, Myrra did a season at the BBC in the tv-series Showstoppers. Collecting air miles, she played Maria in West Side Story both at The Gothenburg Opera and The Rome Opera. Back in Stockholm Myrra starred in the first ever major production of Evita in Sweden. Myrra was invited to Japan to do a series of concerts, and this led to her releasing her first bossa nova album there, which has subsequently been successfully released in other parts of Asia. In between her theatrical commitments, Myrra found that a good way of relaxing and finding new creative energy was taking up photography and writing music. Many of her songs have come into being in airplanes en route between countries. Writing for herself and for her own enjoyment, Myrra was surprised and happy to find that others enjoyed her music as well. She teamed up with pianist/producer Peter Nordahl and bass and guitar player/producer Gunnar Nord? and they started playing together and making demos - just for the fun of it. Drummer Magnus Persson joining the trio, everybody felt they just had to go in to the recording studio, and the result became "Serendipity". "There was so much love and joy and respect involved from the very start, we had such a great time that I can't wait to do it again!" http://web.telia.com/~u82102187/biography.html
