Rock band 30 Seconds to Mars opened up about their pre-gig rituals during a humorous live web chat with MySpace Music, with front man Jared Leto stating : "Well there was a time when we used to sacrifice goats but then we all became vegans so we've been sacrificing tofu before the shows!"
With his tongue still firmly in his cheek Jared went on to add that they also have an unusual way of alleviating stress whilst on tour: "Shannon introduced us to the pleasures of a mud bath. He carries the mud with him from a very special site in Mexico, which is heavy…."
Fresh from their European tour the band have clearly enjoyed their time in the UK stating that the live shows were the best thing about their travels: "probably the shows would be the most exciting thing. We played Wembley… insane… kind of a milestone. Even in the States you hear about Wembley Arena, as a kid you heard about that for years….pretty great to play there."
Renowned for involving their dedicated army of fans in their music, the band also talked about the new album and getting the fans to actually sing on a number of their tracks, Jared stated: "When you hear Kings and Queens and This is War and it sounds like it's a choir of people singing, its actually tens of thousands of people from all over the world. We did nine physical summits and one digital summit where people could sit at home and sing along and lend their voices to the record period"
