Rapper 50 Cent was stunned when he heard an ex-girlfriend had implied he was gay during a recent TV chat.
The 40 year old's former partner, Empire actress Vivica A. Fox insinuated the star was hiding his true sexuality during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Sunday (08Nov15).
When asked by host Andy Cohen about comments 50 had made about the Fox series, suggesting ratings had suffered because of "gay stuff", Vivica responded, "First of all, you know the pot called the kettle black is all I'm saying".
She quickly backtracked, adding, "He's not (gay), he just seems like he's got something that's not quite clear." But her comments left fans scratching their heads - and 50 bemused as to why she was even talking about him in the first place, considering they hadn't dated since 2003.
"When I heard that, I was like, 'Woah, wait a minute'," he told The New York Daily News' Confidenti@l. "I was pretty surprised, but I didn't say anything... We haven't been together for years. No idea why she's still thinking about me and talking about me all the time."
50 Cent later took jabs at Vivica, who appeared on the show to discuss her Empire role as troublemaking Candace, on social media, posting a picture of her with the words "really bad boob job" written across it, but, after his initial anger, the star has opted to find the humour in the drama.
It won't stop him watching the hit musical drama either, as he has a lot of time for Taraji P. Henson, who plays diva Cookie Lyon, the sister of Vivica's character.
"Damn, I saw her on the cover of something and she looked amazing," he added. "Right then, I was like, 'I'm not fighting with her (Fox). No reason to fight.' That show is the Cookie show, people watch to see what she's doing. She's just a cool D.C. girl, they don't play."
