98 Degrees Version 2.0: New Album On The Way!

Nearly a year after it was rumored that 98 Degrees would reunite, the guys have announced plans for a brand-new album.

On May 7, the foursome will give their fans a spankin'-new album, 2.0, their first studio release since 2000's Revelation.

"We are really excited to bring our fans new music and get out on the road," Nick Lachey said in a statement. "This is a long time coming."

Last March, rumors first kicked around that the band would be getting back together, then last June, they confirmed the speculation. By last August, they revealed to MTV News that new music was definitely on the horizon for all the 98 Degrees fans who had been waiting all these years to hear it.

"We're definitely going to get back into the studio and make some new music. The next couple of months are kind of busy for us on different levels, but we are going to get in the studio and start making new music and see where the creative process takes us and then we will see what 2013 holds in store for us," Drew Lachey shared of the band's plans to record again. "We are listening to songs, writing songs, so hopefully in the next couple of months.

In addition to dropping new music in May, the guys will also embark on the boy-band bonanza Package Tour, during which they will open for New Kids on the Block and will be joined by Boyz II Men. The trek will begin May 31 in Uncasville, Connecticut, and will circle its way around North America before wrapping up July 13 in Minneapolis.

"Boyz II Men have not done an arena tour," Donnie Wahlberg told last month. "98 Degrees is doing their first show together in 12 years, so it's a big deal. We're doing our first tour with just us [without Backstreet Boys] in three years, so we are going to put on our show, and they are going to put on theirs."
