Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! That's the day that Adam Lambert and a bevy of beautiful divas at are set to invade VH1 for this year's "Divas". With the likes of Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland, Jordin Sparks, Kelly Clarkson and, yes, even Pitbull all set to hit the stage, anything is possible.
And for host Lambert, "anything" includes performing a Madonna song. "I'm really excited about performing a Madonna song. I've been a proud Madonna fan for quite some time and have always really looked up to her as a show person, someone who knew how to put on a number," he told VH1 ahead of Sunday's live show. "She put costumes and theme and choreography and her videos have been really innovative and I really look up to her so it's going to be a real thrill to perform one of her songs but I'm not going to tell you which one."
He also stopped by VH1's "Big Morning Buzz" earlier in the week to open up about the hosting gig, sharing that he really, really wants to see a "diva-off" backstage. "I hope so! And if there is, I'm going to gossip about it!" he said on the show. "I hope there's a little drama. I like when people get along, but..."
"VH1 Divas" 2012 will air live on VH1 on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT when it all goes down in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium. In addition to the announced performances by all those divas both male and female, the show will pay tribute to late divas Whitney Houston and Donna Summer. Both performers had appeared on the show several times before their deaths earlier this year. More performers and presenters are expected to be announced as the show date approaches.
"I'm so thrilled to be hosting 'VH1 Divas' this year," Lambert said in a statement about the gig. "I have a feeling it's going to be the most fabulous concert of the year! And live!! Get ready for some amazing performances, killer fashion and fierce divas!"
