Lady Gaga's former mentor Akon has described how he sold his "share" in the singer, as there was "nowhere left to go but down" in terms of her career.
The 'Locked Up' singer helped launch Gaga's career back when she was starting out, and even penned her debut single 'Just Dance'. After Gaga's career went stratospheric, it seemed the pair's working relationship ended abruptly - and now Akon has delivered his take on the matter.
Stopping by radio show by Sway in the Morning, the singer claimed he gave up his investment with Gaga, saying: "I cashed out. I got out while the gooding was hot. It’s like a business, you build it to sell it.
"When I got it to the peak of where I felt it couldn’t go nowhere, and there was nowhere left to go but down, I cashed out, in other words I sold my share and got out before it was too late," he added.
