ALICE IN CHAINS have announced that they are set to release their first album for 14 years.
The American rock band have signed a contract with Virgin/EMI Records who will release the currently untitled LP in September in the US.
The upcoming record will be Alice In Chains's first album with new vocalist William DuVall who joined the group in 2005, three years after original frontman Layne Staley died of a drug overdose.
In a statement, the band said: "Hopefully these new songs will strike a chord and make a similar impact on all of you out there that were moved by this band in the first place."
They added that they "believe that this album will return Alice In Chains to the top of the hard rock heap".
