The executive producer explained it is a "positive" move that last year's panelists – Aeorsmith frontman Steven Tyler, record producer Randy Jackson and the 'On The Floor' singer – will be rejoining the singing competition for its 11th series.
He said in a statement: "Having both Jennifer and Steven return to 'Idol' in 2012 alongside Randy is such a positive reflection on what was a wonderful and hugely successful season last year, and everyone is delighted."
Earlier this month, Nigel Lythgoe, executive producer of the show, revealed Jennifer and Steven – who replaced Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres as judges last year – would be rejoining Randy on the programme, and he confirmed Ryan Seacrest would return to present the forthcoming series.
Nigel explained: "I am delighted to say that all three judges, along with the brilliant host of 'American Idol' are back for the next season."
Fox television network has since confirmed the trio have signed up for another series of the talent show, which will begin on January 22.
Jennifer – who recently split from third husband Marc Anthony - previously admitted to being unsure about whether to return as a judge on 'American Idol'.
She said: "I haven't been forced to make a decision and I'm glad about that because, honestly, I'm very on the fence about it."
