Amusement Parks On Fire single and dates

Following the full release of their second album, Out Of The Angeles, in October, Amusement Parks On Fire follow up with this stunning four track EP. Including Out Of The Angeles standout A Star Is Born, the EP include three brand new songs showcasing the other dimensions to Amusement Parks On Fire's otherworldly sound: The acoustic-led 'The Day It Snowed', 'I Think Of Nothing' showcasing Feerick's classical influences by transferring the dissonant beauty of APoF's feedback-drenched soundscapes to strings and piano and 'City Of Light' hinting at a more bullish Amusement Parks direction to come – a glorious, upbeat pop-grunge number.

Amusement Parks On Fire have come along way since their birth in the imagination of a 16 year old Michael Feerick. Inspired by the sonic adventures of The Pixies, Sigur Ros and My Bloody Valentine, Michael wrote the songs that made up APoF's self titled debut album in his Nottingham bedroom. Overflowing with ideas, but lacking a band, he used his prodigious talents to turn his vision into reality. Playing nearly all of the instruments himself - guitars, bass, drums, vocals - he recorded the album in a local studio, with the help of engineer, and friend, Dan Knowles. The album was released on Geoff 'Portishead' Barrow's Invada label, and in response to the offers of gigs that came flooding in Michael built a band to meet the demand. Joining Michael (vocals and guitar) were local boys Dan Knowles (guitar), Jez Cox (bass), Peter Dale (drums). Since their first gig at Nottingham's Social in January 2004, the band have toured the length and breadth of the UK, Europe and America, winning over crowds with their dynamic, adventurous performances.

The experiences of two years constant gigging have been distilled into Out Of The Angeles. Recorded in the band's own studio and at Sigur Ros's fabled swimming pool studio in Iceland, produced by the band themselves, and mastered by the legendary Howie Weinberg in New York, the album pushes the Amusement Parks On Fire sound into bold new directions and is drenched with the promise of a young band prepared to take risks and create dazzlingly beautiful music for years to come.
