Amy Winehouse has admitted herself into rehab in order to prepare for a series of gigs this summer, Gigwise understands.
The singer's spokesperson told Gigwise the 27-year-old had embarked on a treatment programme at the Priory Clinic in London. It follows a report in a tabloid newspaper today (May 27).
“She wants to be ready for performances in Europe this summer and decided to seek an assessment,” her spokesperson added.
Winehouse will remain in The Priory on doctors' advice.
The singer is scheduled to play a series of European festival dates this summer, starting at Kalemegdan Park in Serbia on June 18.
Other gigs are set to take place at BBK Live in Spain and Sziget Festival in Budapest.
