Amy Winehouse's father has said it was 'difficult' for the family to hear her posthumous album 'Hidden Treasures'
The collection of unreleased tracks currently is released today (December 5) and was backed by her entire family.
The estate, which I'm a part of - my ex-wife and I - we could decide to put it out or not put it out, and when we went to listen to the album it was a very difficult time for us," Mitch Winehouse told ITV's Daybreak
"It was very emotional. But we had to sit through it and after the first couple of songs we sort of calmed down a little bit. Our son was there as well and we all had to be in agreement that the album was of the same quality or better, in fact, than Frank and Back To Black, and we were more than pleasantly surprised."
The album features 12 tracks recorded by the late singer in various stages of her life handpicked by her producer friends Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi.
Lioness: Hidden Treasures has also received backing of Winehouse's parents Mitch and Janis.
£1 from every sale of 'Amy Winehouse Lioness: Hidden Treasures' will be donated to her foundation.
