Amy Winehouse is a "hundred thousand per cent" better.
The troubled singer – who has previously battled drug addiction – has delighted her family with the progress she has made in her battle to stay clean and is now ready to relaunch her career.
Her father Mitch Winehouse said: "She's not a write off. She'll show that on the next album. Talk is cheap, we'll have to wait and see. Amy's a recovering addict. And she's been recovering now for at least 18 months. Do you know how difficult that's been for her?
"I know generally people want her to do well but there's also an element that feed it and perpetuate it. I know what the reality is and its good. She's a hundred thousand per cent better."
Mitch also admitted he regrets speaking about his daughter's problems in public, but thinks his family are much "wiser" for their experiences.
He added to the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "There's parts of that I regret. But everything was being played out in the press and the only way I could redress the balance and explain to people was through the media. With the benefit of hindsight maybe I would have done things differently, Everyone got a little bit carried away.
"But we are now three years down the line from those horrible times and we're all in a much better place. Wiser, I think, anyway. It was a very destructive time. But with the support of Amy herself and my family and my friends we got through it and here we are now."
