The 'Rehab' singer has reportedly told her close friend he could move into her new house in Camden, north London, because he needs a base in the English capital while working.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Amy has offered Pete a place to stay while he's in London working on The Libertines comeback.
"She thinks a lot of him and they've been through a lot together so she wants to help him out. "
However, friends of 26-year-old Amy – who has previously battled drug addiction and is said to be trying to curb her partying lifestyle – worry about the impact living with Pete could have on both their battles to stay clean and sober.
The source added: "Pals are worried because they are bad influences on each other."
Last week, Amy showed her support for Pete at The Libertines' comeback concert but was reportedly booed by the group's fans as she danced and shouted on the balcony at London's Kentish Town Forum.
Amy and Pete previously worried fans in 2008 when they posted a series of bizarre videos of themselves playing with mice on YouTube.
The 'Back to Black' star's father Mitch Winehouse has previously spoken about his disapproval over her friendship with the 'What A Waster' hitmaker.
He said: "I do worry about people like Pete Doherty. He's a scumbag. I flipped when I saw him sitting with Amy backstage at her Brixton gig. That night I went crazy. My wife thought I was going to have a heart attack, I was apoplectic"
